What is electro-oxygenated water (EOW)?

What is electro-oxygenated water (EOW)?

Steriplant N is placed among the revolutionary group of biocide agents of electro-oxygenated water (EOW). The mechanism of EOW works on the basis of tied electrons from the environment. This way it takes the electrons from the mechanisms with negative tension on the membrane and therefore destroys them.

How is EOW made?

Steriplant N is an ecological biocide. We obtain it from ordinary water and non-iodized kitchen salt. The electrolysis process is held in a special column made from titan electrodes. The company Swiss Steriplant, who we represent, is the only producer of EOW in the world with four-chamber system, which enables the production of persistent EOW with stronger anti-corrosive action.

How does EOW work?

Electro-oxygenated water works with several mechanisms:

  • Electrical resistivity. EOW has extremely low electrons. Therefore it tends towards electroneutral environment, which it can obtain by acquiring the electrons from the environment. If the microorganism are placed near EOW, it will take their electrons from the membrane, destroy their balance and therefore eliminate such microorganisms.
  • Oxide and super-oxide ions. Creation ox oxide and super-oxide ions places the EOW in the group of biocide agents that give off oxygen. The important properties of this group are fast activity and the fact that decomposition products are ecologically acceptable. The important negative properties of this group are a stirring reaction in the presence of organic substances and the type of storage (require special packaging with air vents that release the pressure in the packaging if it gets too high), corrosivity and irritation of respiratory organs, and caustic properties. All of the above mentioned disadvantages were not traced for EOW.
  • Chlorine, chlorides and sodium hypochlorite. Those compounds are made with electrolysis and are placed among biocidal compounds. But the quantities of such substances made through electrolysis are small and only help at the final disinfection effect.

What are the possibilities of use for EOW?

According to the effects, Steriplant N can be used for disinfection of surfaces, equipment, water pipes, facilities, vehicles and trailers. Depending on the purpose, you need to choose an agent with a desired effect.

What are the main advantages in comparison with other disinfectants?

  • Wide spectrum of effects on numerous very obstinate moroorganisms
  • fast performance
  • versatile applicability
  • there is no way that the organisms can become resistant to the disinfectant
  • works in the presence of dirt
  • after use there is no leftovers of the disinfectant on the surfaces and you don´t need to wash the surfaces
  • you can apply it to the surfaces by spraying less than 0,1l/m2 of disinfectant
  • it has no influence on the environment
  • it can be used for disinfection in the presence of animals
  • simple personal protection
